My name is Renée Haakman
After more than a decade in the High-End Jewellery industry, I felt it was time to bring something personal to the table, something rooted in family traditions, emotion, and the stories that connect us.
That’s how Jewellery of the People was born.
With a deep love for storytelling, craftsmanship, and human connection, I created a platform that offers more than just expertise, it offers experience with heart.
As a certified Gemologist (IGI, Antwerp), I bring a solid foundation of technical knowledge. But my work goes beyond stones and sparkle, it’s about meaning, memory, and message.
Whether I’m training sales teams, hosting hands-on jewellery workshops, speaking at events, or managing creative projects, everything I do is tailored to the audience in front of me.

“Renée has organized several jewellery-making workshops for the students of Stichting Anne-Bo, girls for whom studying is not a given, and for whom a fun outing, where they feel connected and not alone, means a great deal.
The highlight was the jewellery workshop at the second Anne-Bo Festival, held at AFAS in Leusden. A day with 350 visitors, half of whom were students. Renée’s workshop was fully booked throughout the day, not only with Anne-Bo students, but also with their coaches. Renée runs a workshop like a true professional: everything is prepared well in advance, the setup is flawless, and participants are offered an abundance of materials to choose from, allowing them to create exactly what they want.
Above all, Renée is cheerful, helpful, and genuinely attentive to everyone. Her positive energy and thoughtful approach make her workshops a powerful and connecting experience."
